‘Google cured my agoraphobia’

A woman claims Google Street View has cured her agoraphobia and made her want to explore the world.

Sue Curtis has spent half her life inside her home because of her fear of open spaces. Her phobia meant she had to marry her husband Alan in their sitting room.

But Google’s news service has made her want to see the world and she has taken self-help classes on the internet, according to The Sun.

The 40-year-old from South Shields, Tyneside, told the newspaper: “It may not seem very far to walk, but for me, this is amazing, I’m getting there very slowly, and now I don’t see no reason why I can’t be cured in the future and lead a normal life again.”

Her husband Alan said : “We’re really pleased with what’s she’s achieved so far.

“It’s quite amazing that she is now able to do all this just from teaching herself.”
