CHENNARAYAPATNA: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday became the latest victim of footwear attacks on politicians, when a man hurled a slipper at him as he addressed an election meeting in Chennarayapatna, though the slipper missed its target.
Police said the attacker, identified as Chandrasekhar, was arrested after he flung the ‘chappal’ at the Bharatiya Janata Party leader who was criticising Janata Dal-Secular chief H D Deve Gowda for “betraying” the saffron party in 2007. A case has been registered against Chandrasekhar, and is in judicial custody, police said. online
