Zeta-Jones to play Boyle?

ACTRESS Catherine Zeta-Jones reportedly wants to play Internet sensation Susan Boyle in a film about her life, the Daily Mail reported.

czj-reuters The award-winning 39-year-old had apparently asked about the film rights to the singer’s life story, after watching and being inspired by her appearance on a British television show.

The actress was said to have contacted the producers of Britain’s Got Talent after Ms Boyle became a huge hit in the US.

The Oscar-winning director of Titanic, James Cameron, was also believed to have expressed an interest in such a project.

Ms Boyle, a church volunteer from West Lothian, Scotland, has become a worldwide star after her performance on the British show several weeks ago, earning plaudits from both the judges on the show and millions worldwide.

A video clip of her singing I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables has become the most viewed YouTube video of all time with more than 100 million hits as people shared her video over social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

A source on Britain’s Got Talent told the Daily Mail: ‘This is one of many requests we have had to play her (Miss Boyle), for movie deals and for stories of her life. All these people are coming out and want to be associated with her. She is the biggest thing in the world.’

A spokesman for Ms Boyle said she was unwilling to comment.

Zeta-Jones’s publicist in the US denied that there were any current plans for the actress to portray Ms Boyle.

Ms Boyle, who claims to have never been kissed or had a boyfriend, would certainly be a different role for Zeta-Jones. The Welsh-born actress, married to Hollywood legend Michael Douglas, is regularly voted one of the world’s most beautiful women in the world.
