ISLAMABAD: Four militants have been killed and 34 arrested in Swat and Bannu in the last 24 hours as security forces take on militants in the Malakand Divison.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, militant commanders Muhammad Rasol, the brother of Ibn-e-Amin, and Akram are amongst the four militants killed in Swat and Bannu.
The two were killed in Swat during a search and sweep operation in Shukdara. Following a tip-off, the house was raided. Arms and ammunition were also seized during the operation, including eight small machine guns, two pistols, four 7MM rifles and fifty rounds of ammunition.
In related news, security forces secured the Degree College Matta as well as the area near the Matta-Kharirai road.
Following a search operation in Bararai, near Khwazakhela, local militant commander Wahab was killed and fourteen other suspected militants were arrested in house to house searches.
Operations in Bannu also resulted in the death of one militant and the arrest of seven others, in search operations in the Maddi area.
During search and clearance operations in Zangai, near Mangaltan, the houses of six terrorists were also destroyed.
