Bollywood debut slammed

LONDON – POP STAR Kylie Minogue’s Bollywood debut has been slammed by critics, reported entertainment media on Tuesday.

Kylie Minogue Minogue’s performance was described as being ‘as sexy as a fat housewife in a kaftan’, reported The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

She was reportedly paid over S$1.2 million to star in Blue, said to be the most expensive Bollywood film ever made. Blue, which was created to appeal to Western audiences and cost S$38.6 million to make, opened in India last Friday.

However, the movie has be savaged by critics who described it as ‘idiotic’ and saying Minogue, 41, failed to ‘sizzle’ in her dance song Chiggy Wiggy.

Critic Anil Verma said: ‘She doesn’t look good or even sound good.’

Critic Rajeev Masand was a little nicer to Kylie, attacking the film instead. ‘The music by AR Rahman is strictly average; even the item song by Kyle Minogue can’t save this film from reaching its watery grave,’ he said.
