LAHORE: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived here in the provincial capital and visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal amid tight security, and laid floral wreath on the mazar during his one-day trip to Lahore, ARY NEWS reported Thursday.
Besides, she visited the Shahi Qilla of Lahore. Clinton would also hold meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif at Riawand during her visit.
Federal minister for Interior Rehman Malik and other officials are also companying the US secretary state.
Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Salman Tasir accorded her warm welcome at Allama Iqbal airport.
Foolproof security measures have been taken for her visit as she is scheduled to remain busy all the day.
She will address students at Government College Lahore and Business Community at governor house besides.
All the markets and bazaars adjacent to key roads in Lahore will also be kept closed together with foolproof air surveillance on the ways where she will move through, police said.
