The day would dawn would special Eid sermons where clerics would stress for unity of Muslim Ummah while prayers be held for the prosperity and wellbeing of the country.
The largest Eid congregation in the federal capital would be held at Faisal Mosque. In Rawalpindi, main the biggest Eid congregation is to be held at Liaquat Bagh while in Lahore Badshahi Mosque will see the largest number of faithful. Eid congregations would also be held at Data Darbar, Masjid Shuhada, Masjid Wazir Khan and Bagh Jinnah. Special prayers would also be offered for the independence of Palestine and Kashmir and sustainable peace in the region.
Prayer leaders and clerics from different schools of thought would deliver special sermons and lectures to highlight the significance of the day.
To celebrate the Eidul Azha, Muslims sacrifice animals including cow, goat, sheep and camel according to their purchasing power on any of the three days of Eid. However, they have suffered a lot due to the mounting prices of the sacrificial animals this year.
Different slaughtering points have been set up in the federal capital for the convenience of the people.
Menawhile, most of the employees and workers of various govt and private organisations have left Islamabad for their native places to celebrate Eid with their families but still there is lot of hustle and bustle in the City.
The administration has further beefed up the security for Eid, as a contingency plan has been issued to ensure and maintain law and order, safety and security of the general public with a heavy contingent of police deployed outside the mosques and public places.
Meanwhile, some people in tribal Bajaur Agency celebrated Eid on Friday.
