Anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the father of the nation, is being observed on Friday.
The Quaid, born in 1876, spearheaded the movement of the Muslims of the subcontinent for a separate home
land, which culminated in the establishment of Pakistan on Aug 14, 1947.
The day will begin with special prayers in major mosques for the prosperity of the country. Special functions will be held across the country to pay tribute to the Quaid’s services to the nation.
All commercial and business centres and government and private offices will remain closed as the day has been declared a public holiday.
The federal and provincial governments and private organisations will hold special activities to mark the day.
